COACHES

CLUB COACH – JAMES DUYVESTYN

James has been involved with football at Wanneroo since being a young child, playing all his Auskick and junior football at Wanneroo. His involvement at the Amateur Football Club began as a 10-year-old running water, becoming in his words ‘an integral part’ of the 2010 League Premiership as water boy. He has since progressed through the colts system, where he was a 2017 Premiership player, into league football where, until commencing coaching, he had been Club Captain since 2021. He is approaching 200 games at the club, the highlight undoubtedly being becoming a Premiership captain in 2022, where he was also named best on ground.

James is also an assistant coach of the Under 15s State Schoolgirls side. Hirdy will again lead the football program at Wanneroo and is very excited to build on the results of season 2024 and create values driven success for the whole playing group in season 2025.

COLTS COACH – JAYDEN CRANE

A Wanneroo local all through his junior career, Jayden continues as a colts coach for the 3rd year running now, looking to build on 2 consecutive Grand Final appearances.

A highly touted junior, Jayden played in the State Schoolboys 15s and played colts football for Subiaco, before returning to Wanneroo in 2022 where, while still of colts age, he became a league premiership player. He has followed this by back-to-back top 5 finishes in the league best and fairest, including being named Club Champion in 2023. He brings a wealth of knowledge and is extremely passionate about developing the future of the club.

WOMENS COACH – SCOTT OXLADE

A genuine legend of the club, Scott returns for a 2nd year coaching the women’s side in 2025. Stepping up just before the season, largely because of the great club person he is, just before the season, ‘Ox’ did a fantastic job building a culture based upon fun that ensured the retention of players and recruitment of more as the season drew on.

Starting from a small base, the women were able to build as the season progressed and were rewarded with wins in their last 2 games to take a load of optimism into 2025. Recently retired from playing, Ox has played over 300 games, spent years on the committee (recently as vice president) and is a life member of the club.
