• Welcome To The Roos

Welcome to the Wanneroo Amateur Football Club website. Here you can find all the information you need about the club and what’s happening with the Roos!

What a season just gone! 2018 started with so much promise, but our return to A grade proved to be a very tough proposition for the club. We did however manage to survive relegation and are looking forward to our second season in A grade and the challenges that await!

2019 has seen some changes to the ranks with our 2018 League and Colts coaches being offered coaching positions with WAFL teams Claremont and East Fremantle.  We wish them all the best in their endeavors.

The committee conducted a thorough search for coaches for the 2019 season and are pleased to announce Aaron Gooden has been appointed as the 2019 League Coach for the Roos. Aaron has previously coached in the VAFA and played A grade football for Wesley Curtin.

We are also pleased to announce that formal AFL player Josh Wooden will be coaching the Colts team for 2019.

We will be holding a welcome day on the 6th of January at 3pm at the Wanneroo Showgrounds to meet and greet the new coaches followed by Sausage sizzle and drinks.

Pre-season training kicks off at 5.30pm on Monday 7th of January at Lake Joondalup Park.

2019 will be the Roos 34th year in the WAAFL. Having nominated 1 side back in 1985, the club now boasts 4 senior and 2 colts teams and is one of the strongest senior clubs in Western Australia. We arguably have the best facilities in the competition which are now complemented by our new state-of-the-art digital scoreboard.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for season 2019, please contact Russell Burnett on 0458 469 039 or email russellburnett@bigpond.com. Without the support of our valued sponsors the club would not be where it is today.

So take a browse, see what we’re up to, check out how you can join, check out all upcoming fixtures for our grades and see what’s going around around the club.
