OUR CLUB

The Wanneroo Amateur Football Club (WAFC) proudly competes in the Perth Football League (PFL), the largest organised football league in Western Australia. Established in 1922, the PFL has evolved from a modest six-team competition into a thriving league comprising 38 grades across Men’s, Colts (Under-20s), and a growing Women’s competitions.

WAFC offers a high-quality playing environment for those balancing football with career, study, or lifestyle commitments, making it an ideal choice for players seeking a recreational yet competitive experience.

  • Our Home and Community Impact

Based at the iconic Wanneroo Showgrounds, WAFC is a hub for local sports and community events. Embracing our culture of inclusion, we host an annual Ladies’ Day, where the senior men’s team don pink jumpers in support of Breast Care WA. Through various fundraising activities, we contribute to this organisation’s vital work with an annual donation.

Mental health awareness is also a key focus, with teams wearing dedicated blue jumpers to promote the importance of mental health, particularly among young men, a particularly at-risk demographic.

To honour our Indigenous forebears and respect the land on which we play, WAFC proudly launched a jumper designed by local Indigenous artist Selina Gerrand. This design celebrates the connection to the local land and pays tribute to the cultural significance it holds, along with the elders who walked these lands long before. Players wear this jumper with pride, recognising its importance in fostering understanding and respect.

  • The Path Ahead

Building on decades of success, WAFC continues to grow both on and off the field. With an energised committee and an experienced coaching panel, we remain committed to nurturing young talent, fostering sportsmanship, and providing opportunities for players of all abilities.

Our commitment extends beyond the game—our matches serve as a gathering point for the community, bringing people of all ages together to celebrate football and camaraderie.

Join us in our pursuit of excellence, community connection, and love for the game at WAFC!

History

Since its debut in the league in 1985, the club has grown from a single ‘J’ Grade team to fielding four senior teams, two Colts teams, and a rapidly expanding women’s team, achieving remarkable milestones along the way. With plenty of premiership success along the way, the club is now entering into its 40th year and going from strength to strength.
