Many of you would have heard the devastating news about the fire that destroyed our football and cricket club rooms. Not only did it destroy the clubrooms, but it also destroyed all the memorabilia that was stored in the rooms. Much of this information goes back decades and is going to be impossible to replace. However, both the football and the cricket club are going to take a positive re-active attitude towards the disaster and start planning for a new future and a positive way forward for all members.
We are quite certain that there are many present and past members of both clubs, junior and senior divisions, who have very valuable information, artefacts and memorabilia that could be used to build the clubs again. If you have any of the above we appreciate an email giving us your information. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY INFORMATION DIRECTLY YET AS WE HAVE NOWHERE TO STORE IT. However if you leave your name and details on the email address, we will get back to you when the time is right and we are able to start physically collecting and organizing information sent to us.
Both clubs would like to thank you in anticipation of information that you will be able to share with us and also for all your continued support in this time of such devastation to our clubrooms.
The site to send information is:
showgroundsrebuild@gmail.com
In the past 23 years Wanneroo has built a remarkable tradition and this has been possible because of the many passionate, loyal and committed members who have continued to support the players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and supporters over these years. It is this passion of our members and supporters that sets Wanneroo apart from all the other clubs. The focus of members for 2009 is to continue with this support and continue to build the Wanneroo Amateur football Club traditions.
Even though the 2008 season finished in September, the newly elected committee has been hard at work with the planning for season 2009.
